about
“A sense of wonder is a gift that can be preserved and shared with others to bring joy to life.”
Rooted in the beauty of the natural world, Bloem Handcrafted is the work of Cincinnati, Ohio artist Kate LaBare, who transforms tiny wonders—including leaves, seeds, fossils—into timeless jewelry. Every piece is handcrafted with intention, using recycled fine silver and traditional metalsmithing techniques to create heirloom-quality designs that reflect the quiet magic of the outdoors. Bloem pieces capture the delicate details that often go unnoticed—and turn them into lasting art.
Kate’s process begins in nature: collecting organic textures and forms during her travels and walks, then preserving them through handmade, reusable molds or sketching patterns and carving molds. These molds are used to cast fine silver metal clay—each element carefully shaped, fired, and polished by hand. Bloem Handcrafted jewelry is both earthy and elegant.
Unlike traditional sterling silver, the .999 fine silver used in Bloem jewelry resists tarnishing, preserving its luminous finish for decades. Each piece is crafted to last—designed to ground you, connect you to place, and become a cherished part of your own story.
“The quality of the fern earrings I bought for myself, my niece, and sisters is amazing. I love that you can even see the texture of the fern spores in the silver! You can tell how unique each piece is, and that makes every item she sells even more special.”
